Kristen Huamani

Communications Expert

As a child, Kristen wanted to be a doctor. But as much as she loved the idea of helping people feel better, she couldn’t stand needles or the sight of blood. Luckily, she discovered the field of healthcare communications. After receiving a degree in Public Relations from Syracuse University, she began working on a healthcare account at a New York City PR firm. There, she worked on a national hepatitis B education and awareness campaign. Over the years, she’s worked on product, corporate, employee, and issues management communications—but that first experience cemented her passion for disease education and awareness.

Kristen brings both strategic counsel and tactical execution to the inKlein team. The communications projects she works on often involve collaboration from numerous parties, including pharmaceutical companies, advocacy groups, and other health and wellness organizations. She is able to speak the right language to the right people, pulling everyone onto the same page—to ensure that the final objectives are met, and the final product is of the highest quality.

Kristen was previously vice president/account manager at Cohn & Wolfe Healthcare, where she managed product launch and post-launch programs for GlaxoSmithKline vaccines and ongoing scientific communications programs for two oncology products. In her 20-year career (which includes full-time employment and freelance consulting), she’s worked with companies such as Sanofi, Novartis, Pfizer and Bayer Biologicals.

She currently lives in New Jersey with her husband and three school-aged children, but tries to get back to Rhode Island (where she grew up) as often as possible to spend time with her family and enjoy the beaches of Narragansett.
